District Q&A

Have a question for the district?  Send it to us and we'll do our best to answer it.  Here is an example of questions recently submitted:

Q:  Are there any regulations on having many lights on docks or bright yard lights that shine all night onto the lake?

A:  There are no regulations on lighting in your yards or docks.  With that said, many residents do find bright lights distracting and/or intruding.  If you plan to have bright lighting, please consider discussing the lighting with your neighbors.

Q:  How close can boats be to docks when cruising the lake?

A:  Per the Wisconsin Boating Laws Handbook, "It is illegal to...Operate a vessel within 100 feet of the shoreline, any dock, raft, pier, or restricted area on any lake at a greater than 'slot, now wake speed.'"

Q:  Is there a recommended cut off time when Fireworks can be shot off at night?

A:  Per Wisconsin state law, the only fireworks permitted on the lake are the fireworks organized by the district.  If you choose to do your own fireworks, be respectful of the other residents of the lake.  Please use common sense, keep them limited, and before midnight.
